W123 E-Class Sedan






The W115 E-Class was replaced by the W123. Produced in 1976-1985 over a 9-year production span, over 2,500,000 units were sold. This was an extremely popular model. The E-Class was traditionally luxurious, sporty and reliable.
The exterior of the W123 was a completely new concept. Gone were the individual headlights and grille. The new E-Class had a huge grille flanked by enormous headlights on both sides. The side is almost identical. However, dimensions were lengthened to create more legroom for rear passengers. The rear was also new. Enlarged headlamps freshen the look, increase safety and flows with the vehicle.
The interior is brilliant. Wood trim now shows more flow and elegance. A nice wood grain console houses the climate control system and audio system. Upholstery is beautiful leather highlighted by elegant chrome appointments. All passengers in the W123 is seated in comfort and pampered throughout the whole journey.
New innovations were added. ABS(Antilock Brake System) is featured as an option along with airbags. Automatic transmission and cruise control is also introduced. Engine technology is also improved. The W123 was a vehicle possessing great technological advancements. It also featured a new design theme. It's successor the W124 would possess even greater advancements and leave a footprint in the history of automobiles.
