W120/W121 E-Class Sedan

The first E-Class Sedan was the W120/W121. They were produced from 1953-1962. The W120 and W121 were part of the "Ponton" series. Along with it's big brother, the W180 S-Class Sedan.
The exterior of the W120/W121 was the most popular of it's time. Exterior dimensions were slightly smaller than the S-Class. However, it was very similar. It featured the "Ponton" styling. It had an upright grille and then the wheel fenders on the sides. It then had a stylish passenger compartment. It looked very elegant from the side especially with the chrome highlights.
The interior is also great. Soft leather upholstery along with hand-rubbed wood trim. The interior is built with elegance and comfort in mind. This highlighted with bright chrome.
The drivetrain was very simple at it's time. They were classified as 180 or 190. The 180s were given the codename of W120 and the 190s were given the codename of W121. Also, each model was given the choice of Petrol or Diesel. This chart will help you understand the classification better.

190D 1.9Litre Inline-4 Diesel
180 1.8Litre Inline-4
190 1.9Litre Inline-4

The W120/W121 would be replaced by the W110 "Fintail". Again, it will make it's mark in history.
