V251 R-Class Grand Tourer
The R-Class is a Grand Sports Tourer built by Mercedes-Benz. It is codenamed V251. The R-Class first entered production in 2006. The R-Class was designed alongside the B-Class, therefore, we see similarity between the two vehicles. It was specifically designed to battle in the North American market's demand for tourers.
The exterior of the R-Class is similar to other touring cars, with a few refined Mercedes-Benz elements. The front features a flowing grille and hood. An aggressive air dam lies underneath the grille. The headlights however, lack flow. A round headlight + a bird's beak looking piece doesn't look right. However, the rest of the vehicle looks great. From the side, the R-Class shows flow and elegance. From the rear, adequate sportiness is achieved. Extra aggressiveness is achieved through the AMG Sport Package. This features redesigned skirts, smoked tailights and light alloy wheels.
The interior is very comfortable. Premium Leather is standard on higher models while base models come standard with Artico Leather with Leather available as a standard. Trim element is either wood or alumium. Features such as COMAND APS are standard on some vehicles and optional on others. Thermatic automatic climate control is standard while Thermotronic luxury climate control is available as an option. The interior is very spacious. Due to the absence of a luggage compartment, third row passengers too had plenty of legroom. Meanwhile, the Second Row is given a choice of Captain chairs or bench seats. Captain chairs are able to be adjusted for and aft. Also, the two seats are separated by a centre console with cupholders and adorned with wood and leather. The interior is convenient and extremely comfortable
The R-Class comes standard with ABS(Antilock Brake System), BAS(Brake Assist), ESP(Electronic Stability Program), ADS(Adaptive Dampening System), ASR(Anti Slip Regulation) and a state-of-the-art system of seatbelts. The R-Class comes in a variety of engines. This chart will help you understand the classification
